What have I been up to!
I cannot believe that we are already in 2017. The older I get the quicker the years seem to fly by. I think that is in part because when we get older we are busier.
After Christmas, I got busy planning for my year. Call them resolutions, intentions or areas to focus on. I have been busy drawing out my Vision for 2017. I bought a book to keep everything in, so I can look at it daily or whenever I need motivation. This little journal has some empty pages still so I can add to it through the year. I am now in drill down mode of breaking everything down and getting it onto the calendar. Every three months I will be reviewing my plan to make sure I am on track and to see if anything needs to be changed or updated.
So many of us start the new year with great goals, but never follow though or just lose sight of them. Two things I did differently this year. One, I choose a word of the year and two on the cover of my journal I drew a symbol to remind me of who I am. My word of the year is Rapport! My goal is to focus on building rapport with others by strengthening bonds. The Infinity symbol is what I am choosing to focus on. To me it means “My possibilities are endless and I have no boundaries to hold me back. I do not have a start or an end, but rather a life full of continuous experiences that shape who I am”. I’m loving my quote this year, kind of like a Life mission statement!
Last year I focused on Being better than the day before; Better than Yesterday. This year life is about Happiness; Self and Inner Harmony. My Top 5 Values are written out as well. The last two months I have lost track of working out and focusing on myself. I’m not going to beat myself up over this; really what would be the point of that. I’m moving on and have obviously written my goals to reflect the need for Self and Inner Harmony. Fear and Self-doubt will always creep in like the grim reaper, and we need to make sure we push those feelings aside so we can be our best selves.
I am very excited for the year to come, just like I am every year. But it means new experiences, memories and time to spend with my family and friends. I hope the world is ready, cause I’m ready to share my heart and my work.
Do you write down goals or Visions? Have you ever tried a word of the year? If you don’t know where to start I can help get them down on paper for you.
Happy New Year!
